Day 1: Nairobi/Mara – This itinerary fits bird watchers, whereby you leave Nairobi in the morning via the Great Rift Valley, arriving a Masai Mara in time for lunch, afternoon game drive, dinner and overnight at the lodge/camp.

Day 2: Mara – Spend the whole day in the slopes of Masaai Mara in search of the famous big five. There are also some common species of birds found in Masaai Mara; fishing eagles, guinea fowls, ostriches among others. Dinner and overnight at the lodge/camp.

Day 3: Mara / Nakuru – After breakfast depart for Lake Nakuru National Park, arriving in time for lunch. Afternoon proceed for the game drive in the bird sanctuary. Dinner and overnight at the lodge/camp.

Day 4: Nakuru / Naivasha – Spend the whole day visiting the lakes, which are Nakuru, Elementaita and Naivasha. Dinner and overnight at the lodge/camp.

Day 5: Naivasha / Lake Baringo – Early in the morning after breakfast proceed to Lake Baringo arriving in time for lunch. In the afternoon proceed for the hot springs at the Lake Bogoria. Dinner and overnight at the lodge/camp.

Day 6: Baringo / Samburu – Early in the morning depart for for Samburu National Park past the slopes of the Aberdare ranges, arrive in time for lunch, afternoon game drive, dinner and overnight at the lodge/camp.

Day 7: Samburu / Nakuru – Pre-breakfast game drive, then later proceed to Nairobi. Drop off at your city hotel.


Day 1: Leave Nairobi in the morning and drive through the Great Rift Valley. Picnic lunch en-route to your lodge/camp for overnight.

Day 2: Morning and afternoon game viewing in Masai Mara. Dinner and overnight at the lodge/camp.

Day 3: Pre-breakfast game viewing in Masaai Mara Game Reserve. After breakfast drive out of the park through Kilgoris town with picnic lunch at Kisii town. Visit the Tabaka soapstone mining queries and also visit the carvers. We proceed to Sonic Hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: A visit to Keumbu area to view pineapple and banana plantation, the livelihood of the community. Drive further past Ahero falconry to Kisumu town for lunch. Then drive to Kakamega to view the folkloric crying stones. Dinner and overnight at camp.

Day 5: Visit Kakamega forest and local villages. Dinner and overnight at camp.

Day 6: Visit Kit Mikayi. According to Luo folklore, this stone is believed to be the remains of the lady who was forced out of the homestead by a jealous husband. Then proceed to Lwanda Magere-this stone is believed to be the remains of a Luo warrior who was killed after betrayal.

Day 7: After breakfast, drive through tea plantation to Lake Baringo with lunch in Nakuru. Proceed to Lake Bogoria. Dinner and overnight at lodge/camp.

Day 8: After breakfast, take a boat trip to visit the Njemps fishermen. Thereafter proceed to Nairobi.



A long expedition in a purpose-built truck, this rugged 1,600km safari to vanishing Africa tackles some of Africa’s worst roads, crosses dusty deserts and high mountains, and takes you to the sparkling waters of the jade Sea Lake Turkana.


Day 1: Lake Baringo- Depart at 9:30 a.m. stopping at the top of the eastern escarpment to view the Great Rift Valley. Lunch at Nakuru and arrive at Lake Baringo late afternoon. Watch out for hippos while you shower.

Day 2: South Horr – We climb out of the Rift Valley in the morning chill towards Marala where the ochred Samburu people are still normadic and proud. Then another spectacular clim up Losiolo and down past Baragoi to South Horr where we camp next to a small clear stream.

Day 3: Lake Turkana - The rough road gets worse as we descend across ancient lava flows towards the jade sea and the oasis of Loyengelani, lying between the lake and the towering Mt.Kulal.

Day 4: Lake Turkana - A day of exploring, bathing and resting at Loyengelani and Elmolo Bay. Sometimes the Elmolo people will hire out a boat. Crocodiles are not common near the town now and swimming is safe.

Day 5: Barsaloi- Up the Horr Valley and back to Baragoi, camping further south at Barsaloi on the road to Wamba.

Day 6: Samburu Park- We pass Wamba before lunch and celebrate our arrival at Samburu Park with a dip in the buffalo Springs, then on to set up camp in the shade of the Ewso Nyiro riverbank.

Day 7: Samburu Park- A day of viewing in the park. Elephants can be seen about.

Day 8: Samburu / Nairobi- After breakfast, drive to Nairobi.
